Rules & Regulations
Please read and understand the primary regulatory obligations. These rules govern submissions, rights clearances, programming classifications, and general eligibility criteria.
SUBMISSION NOTICE
Submitting a project to the Korea International Film Festival implies full and unreserved acceptance of all rules. It is the sole responsibility of the filmmaker to ensure all intellectual rights and licenses are pre-cleared.

Films from all countries are welcome.

Submission to the Festival does not guarantee official selection, screening, nomination, or award consideration.

Films completed on or after January 1, 2022, are eligible for submission.

Entries may include Feature Films, Short Films, Documentaries, Animations, Experimental Films, Student Films, Music Videos, and Web/TV Series.

Non-English language films must include English subtitles.

The submitter must own all rights necessary for exhibition of the submitted work, including music, images, and all copyrighted materials contained within the film.

Multiple entries are permitted. Each entry must be accompanied by a separate submission fee.

Submission fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

Works-in-progress are accepted only if clearly indicated at the time of submission.

The Festival reserves the right to reassign films to the most appropriate category.

The Festival may use trailers, posters, stills, synopses, and excerpts of selected films for promotional and marketing purposes.

Selection decisions are made by the Festival Programming Team and Jury. All decisions are final and cannot be challenged.

Filmmakers will be notified of the Festival’s official selection results via FilmFreeway.

By submitting, participants confirm that they have obtained all necessary permissions and releases related to the production.

The Festival will not be responsible for any copyright infringement, trademark infringement, or legal disputes arising from submitted works.

If selected, filmmakers may be required to provide a high-quality screening file and promotional materials.

The Festival reserves the right to refuse any submission deemed inappropriate, unlawful, offensive, or not aligned with the Festival’s standards.

The Festival reserves the right to update or modify these rules at any time without prior notice.

By submitting a film, the applicant acknowledges and accepts all Festival Rules & Terms.
